Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced today on social media that his country’s forces last night attacked „the infrastructure of three Russian refineries in Bashkortostan,“ 1,600 kilometers from Ukrainian positions.
The head of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, said earlier today that another drone attack on the city of Ufa had been repelled.
Khabirov downplayed the significance of the attack, admitting only that drone debris caused „smoke in the industrial zone,“ while images on the internet showed a large cloud of smoke.
Zelensky said that Ukrainian attacks also struck „targets“ in the Black and Azov Seas, mentioning the Russian container ship Janina, „under sanctions, which was sailing under the Russian flag and had a capacity of over 100,000 tons.“
The Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation (Rosatom) announced that the ship had sunk.
