A Russian military helicopter briefly violated Polish airspace this morning, reports the British newspaper The Guardian.
The Polish army stated that a Russian Mi-8 helicopter entered 300 meters into Polish airspace from the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad and remained there for 42 seconds.
“The helicopter’s flight was tracked by the radar systems of the Polish Armed Forces. Fighter jets were scrambled, while ground forces and assets were placed on alert. The nature of the incident indicates that Russia is once again testing the readiness of our air defense,” the Polish army’s statement reads.
