U.S. President Donald Trump promised that U.S. citizens could receive $5,000 each if the Republican Party wins the Congressional elections scheduled for Tuesday, November 3, 2026, the Chicago Events portal reported.
Trump repeated the promise before supporters in Daytona Beach, Florida. It was not explained from which funds the payments would be financed, nor how the measure would be implemented in accordance with the law. For now, there is no approved program that guarantees citizens this money.
Before heading to the rally, the president stated from the Oval Office that Republicans have a chance to achieve a very good result, but admitted that the party of the sitting president traditionally loses some support in midterm elections. Democrats hope to take control of the House of Representatives, and possibly the Senate as well.
The campaign is taking place amid dissatisfaction over high living costs and political uncertainty linked to tensions between Washington and Iran. According to data from an ABC report, by noon on Friday, approximately 47.9 million Americans had voted early.
The outcome of the elections could affect Trump’s ability to implement political and economic plans, including a possible proposal for cash payments.
