Tehran launched missile and drone strikes on U.S. targets in Jordan, Kuwait, Iraq, and Bahrain after U.S. forces renewed attacks on Iran, the BBC reported this morning.
The Iranian news agency Tasnim reported that Iran targeted the U.S. Marine base in the Jordanian city of Aqaba with ballistic missiles, in retaliation for the attack on Sirik.
The Jordanian Armed Forces announced that they intercepted 13 ballistic missiles, 10 of which were destroyed, while three fell in uninhabited areas. There were no fatalities or injuries in the attack.
The Kuwaiti military stated that its air defense responded to Iranian missile attacks early this morning.
According to Iranian state media, several explosions were also reported in Bahrain following Iran’s attacks.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced today that it attacked U.S. bases in the autonomous Kurdish region of Iraq with missiles and drones, destroying warehouses and equipment, the state agency IRNA reported.
The Iranian Red Crescent stated that five people, including one child, were killed and more than 50 injured when a U.S. missile strike hit a house where a wedding celebration was taking place in Sirik, southern Iran.
The U.S. military stated that it is aware of the reports, but that it never targets civilians.
The U.S. Central Command (Centcom) said that the U.S. attacks on Iran followed „recent attempted attacks“ by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard on commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz and on U.S. forces in the region.
