Two prominent political operatives of U.S. President Donald Trump recently stayed in the Republic of Srpska (RS), where they provided advisory services to the local government ahead of elections, the New York Times (NYT) reported.
The individuals in question are James Blair and Chris LaCivita, two people who hold important roles in the political apparatus connected to Donald Trump and the Republican Party in the United States (USA), according to the American newspaper, as reported by Sarajevo media.
According to information published by the New York Times, Blair and LaCivita obtained the job through a Washington law firm hired by the Government of the Republic of Srpska (RS), and their work included, among other things, issues related to the electoral process.
“This engagement represents the latest example of how Trump’s advisers are profiting by cooperating with far-right politicians abroad, who seek to win the favor of the American president while simultaneously defying the international community,” the article states.
It is emphasized that Trump’s allies promoted the commitment of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD), Milorad Dodik’s party, to Christian conservatism and its resistance to joining the European Union (EU).
According to sources familiar with the arrangement, the American newspaper reports, each of Trump’s associates received several hundred thousand dollars.
The RS government did not respond to the New York Times’ questions about this engagement and the payments.
Blair previously served as political director of Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign, while LaCivita was one of the key executives of that campaign.
Both are now involved in MAGA movement activities.
According to data from documents submitted to the U.S. Department of Justice, since the beginning of last year, the Republic of Srpska has paid a total of more than four million dollars to lobbyists and political operatives connected to Trump.
