Iran denies involvement in the incident near the British military base Fairford

The Iranian embassy in London today denied any involvement in the case of explosives found near the Fairford military base in Britain.

In a statement, the embassy said it categorically rejects and strongly condemns the recent unfounded and malicious speculation regarding the arrest of five men near the Fairford base.

Five Britons have been arrested on suspicion of planning a terrorist attack.

They were detained yesterday after three vans were spotted near the Fairford base, which is also used by the US.

Investigators have not yet determined whether the attack was state-sponsored.

Possible links to Iran, Russia, or militant groups without state support are being examined.
