Members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Anti-Corruption Service and the Criminal Police Directorate, acting on the order of the Special Department for Combating Corruption of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Kraljevo, have arrested J. A. (1986) from Belgrade, the responsible person of two associations from Jagodina, on reasonable suspicion of committing the criminal offense of official fraud. It is suspected that from April to December 2021, J. A. submitted false statements and forged copyright contracts, thereby misleading the authorized person to unlawfully pay a total of 1,280,000 dinars from the budget of the city of Jagodina.
This money was allocated for the implementation of public interest programs „From Keyboard to Employment“ and „Empowerment and Support for Socially Vulnerable Children and Their Families.“ The suspect has been detained for up to 48 hours, after which, along with a criminal complaint, she will be brought before the competent prosecutor’s office.
Members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Criminal Police Directorate, continue their efforts to combat corruption throughout the territory of the Republic of Serbia.
