Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky today condemned Russian air strikes on Kyiv and the surrounding area, stating that as long as Ukraine does not have enough ballistic missile defense systems, Russia will not take the issue of peace seriously.
According to the latest figures, 13 people were killed and around 40 injured in attacks during the past night on Kyiv and its surroundings.
„The Russians prepared for a long time and combined different types of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones, with the aim of causing as much damage as possible to civilian infrastructure,“ Zelensky said on Telegram.
The President of Ukraine added that while Moscow invests in ballistic missiles and escalation, the world’s response to such attacks is not always adequate.
„As long as Ukraine does not have enough ballistic missile defense systems, Russia will not take the issue of peace seriously,“ said Zelensky, who reiterated the „daily need“ for interceptors for Patriot systems.
