The second phase of the joint exercise of the Serbian Armed Forces ‘Winner 2026’ has begun

As part of the second phase of the joint tactical exercise with live-fire drills ‘Winner 2026’, units of the Serbian Army Ground Forces are conducting training at multiple locations to carry out combat operations in an offensive operation, the Ministry of Defense announced today.

As stated, in this phase, the units have conducted marches in combat vehicles from peacetime locations to the area of task execution, applying force protection measures and conducting combat operations under various conditions and different tactical assumptions, both day and night.

The focus, as noted, is on establishing a military presence in a designated area, controlling territory, monitoring road communications and facilities significant for the success of the operation, as well as verifying procedures for operating in a civilian environment.

The aim of the exercise activities is to improve and verify the capability to perform tasks while on the march, as well as the ability to use newly introduced weapons and observation devices, which provide commands and units of the Serbian Armed Forces with new capabilities for situational awareness on the ground and efficient task execution.

The joint exercise ‘Winner 2026’ began at the end of August and will last until the first week of October.

The activities so far, according to the Ministry of Defense, have confirmed the high level of training, readiness, and professionalism of the members of the Serbian Armed Forces, as well as the ability to effectively use new and modernized equipment and systems.

At the same time, as stated, a high degree of coordination and cooperation has been demonstrated in responding to contemporary challenges, risks, and threats to the security of the Republic of Serbia.
