The Minister of North Macedonia for European Affairs, Bekim Sali, met today in Brussels with the EU Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, to discuss the European perspective of his country.
According to a statement from his ministry, Sali and Kos discussed the latest state of the European Union’s enlargement policy, the implementation of the Reform Agenda, and the possibilities for accelerated and gradual integration into European policies and programs.
Sali welcomed the European Commission’s statement “Preparing for a Wider Union” and emphasized that a more predictable enlargement process, based on merit and measurable results, is important.
“European integration should not remain just a political perspective. It should be translated into real opportunities for our citizens, economy, and businesses. The reforms we are implementing should gradually bring us closer to the market, programs, and policies of the European Union,” Sali stated.
