Three Killed in Russian-Ukrainian Clashes

In Ukrainian airstrikes on the Russian cities of Rostov-on-Don and Belgorod, two people were killed and 17 injured, regional authorities said today.

At the same time, in Ukraine, one person was killed and seven wounded following Russian attacks, according to local authorities.

In Rostov-on-Don, a leading export center near the Sea of Azov, two people from the same family were killed and five others wounded, two of whom are in critical condition, regional governor Yuri Slyusar stated in a post on Telegram, as reported by Reuters.

Falling drone debris caused fires in several locations, including warehouses, and windows were shattered in a residential building, the governor added.

In Belgorod, which like Rostov-on-Don is close to the Ukrainian border, a drone attack wounded 12 people, including two children, and caused a fire in a residential building.

Ukrainian governor of the Zaporizhzhia region Ivan Fedorov said that one person was killed and two wounded in an explosion from a guided aerial bomb. That region has been under heavy bombardment in recent months.

In Ukraine’s northern Sumy region, five people were wounded in an explosion from a Russian guided bomb, regional governor Oleh Khyryhorov stated via Telegram.

Reuters notes that it could not independently verify these reports and adds that both Russia and Ukraine deny targeting civilians.
