Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir, one of the most extreme right-wing politicians in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s ruling coalition, has publicly advocated killing 30 to 40 people in Gaza every night.
He made this statement during a conversation with former hostage held in Gaza, Rom Braslavsky, on a podcast. The two discussed Israel’s recovery after the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, and Ben-Gvir criticized the reduction in the intensity of Israeli attacks on Gaza.
„It is no secret that I disagree with the Prime Minister. I think targeted killings should be carried out in Gaza, eliminating 30 to 40 people every night. Not just those who pose an immediate threat—there are people there who are not worthy of life. They should not live. They are not even human,“ he said.
Similar statements by Ben-Gvir and other Israeli officials have previously been condemned. They have repeatedly been presented to the International Court of Justice of the United Nations as evidence of genocidal intent.
Israel denies committing genocide in Gaza.
