Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced today that he spoke with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte about new Russian attacks on his country and military defense.
Zelensky stated in a post on X that when his delegation met with Rutte, “three waves of ballistic attacks had already been carried out on Kyiv.”
“I informed Mark (Rutte) in detail about all the consequences, the destruction, and the victims. This is the daily reality in which Ukraine lives. It is impossible to confront this terror against life alone,” the post said.
He wrote that the Ukrainian military has learned to shoot down cruise missiles and drones, as well as to seek “solutions against jet-powered Shaheds” and is achieving good results, but that only “Patriot” system interceptors are effective against ballistic missiles, which Ukraine needs “practically every day.”
“We discussed our needs for them and how to secure a support package for the winter,” Zelensky added, thanking Rutte for what he described as “willingness to seek solutions.”
