President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić today issued a decree dissolving the National Assembly of Serbia and called snap parliamentary elections for Sunday, October 25.
In his address to the citizens, Vučić stated that he made the decision to call elections “guided by the vital state and interests of the citizens of Serbia.”
“If it were not for such tensions and political disagreements and conflicts, we certainly would not need elections, but any postponement would jeopardize both the Expo and the survival of democracy as the best form of political regime in our country,” Vučić said in his address from the Presidency of Serbia.
