The Party of Freedom and Justice (SSP) demands the immediate resignation of Minister Dejan Vuk Stanković due to serious allegations of self-plagiarism brought against him. We believe that these accusations, based on a thorough analysis, call into question the minister’s academic integrity and moral suitability, directly undermine Serbia’s education system, and that Dejan Vuk Stanković can no longer remain in the position of Minister of Education. This is the only way to protect Serbia’s educational system from further deterioration under the rule of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS).
As Minister of Education, Dejan Vuk Stanković is expected to be a model of academic honesty and a bearer of the highest standards in education. Instead, the allegations of self-plagiarism—if proven true—cast a new shadow over his credibility and ability to lead a key ministry, further eroding public trust in institutions amid the greatest social crisis in Serbia’s recent history. This is particularly concerning given the repression the minister is reportedly exercising against education workers who oppose the cover-up of corruption and violence by the SNS regime. Such behavior is unacceptable for someone heading the Ministry of Education, which should be promoting knowledge, integrity, and accountability.
It comes as no surprise that SNS ministers proudly carry plagiarized academic papers and titles, but this must come to an immediate end. SSP will closely monitor every step of this process and respond to any attempt by the authorities to cover up this case.
