The Managing Board of the Bar Association of Serbia (AKS) said Monday that lawyer Veljko Delibasic has resigned from his position as president of the AKS and that his term officially ended on May 10, the date his resignation was submitted, in accordance with Article 108 of the AKS Statute.
The AKS issued a statement saying that a special session was held on Sunday, May 11, during which the Board decided to call elections for all officeholders and members of AKS governing bodies for the 2025–2029 term. The elections are scheduled to be completed by the end of September 2025.
At the session, lawyer Nemanja Jolovic, secretary of the AKS Managing Board, was authorized to handle all matters related to meetings and the implementation of decisions until a new session is held, while the Board also adopted additional measures to ensure the regular functioning of the Association and to regulate the Managing Board’s operations during the transition period leading up to the elections.
Veljko Delibasic told FoNet that he stepped down from his position as president of the Bar Association of Serbia for personal reasons.
