Marinika Tepić, one of the leaders of the electoral list “European Serbia,” sounded the alarm today that the absence of an invitation to the European Parliament to send an observer mission to the elections in Serbia raises a serious question: has Vučić devised a new manipulation to redraw the electoral will of the citizens, and is that why he does not want European observers?
“Vučić gave up on Europe long ago, and now he is also running away from European observers! When it is politically convenient for him to talk about the European path, he is full of talk about Europe, but when he needs to accept European democratic standards and enable independent election monitoring, then there is no invitation,” Tepić emphasized.
-What is Vučić afraid of and what does he not want European observers to see this time, considering that they were on a mission for the 2023 elections? While the authorities claim that everything is fine, citizens point to pressure, blackmail, abuse of state resources, and media inequality. Is the absence of an invitation an attempt to avoid independent monitoring at a time when citizens are rightfully demanding guarantees that their electoral will shall be respected?
European Serbia means free elections, institutions that serve the citizens and not the authorities, and a state in which the will of the people is not redrawn, but respected! Serbia deserves Europe not only in words, but in deeds, democracy without pressure, elections without manipulation, and a future in which the fate of the country is decided by the citizens, not the arbitrariness of one man!” stated Marinika Tepić, one of the leaders of the “European Serbia” electoral list.
