Russia has military and economic resources for another year, but will exhaust its capacity to continue the war by 2028 if its current losses persist, said the head of Ukrainian military intelligence, Oleg Ivashchenko, to the British newspaper The Times.
According to him, Moscow is recruiting 1,000 to 1,200 soldiers daily, but is losing 1,400 to 1,500, with a huge mortality rate of 60 percent among the wounded, which is attributed to increasing drone attacks and the use of artificial intelligence on the front line.
Ivashchenko, who is giving his first interview to foreign media, said that the Russian command is seeking 800,000 additional soldiers after the parliamentary elections scheduled for September 20, although Russian forces can train only 300,000 to 500,000 people at a time.
The British newspaper reported that these numbers and data cannot be verified from independent sources.
In the interview, Ivashchenko described in detail the role of the Kremlin’s allies: North Korea, which could increase its contingent to 50,000 soldiers in the Kursk region in addition to supplying ballistic missiles, and Belarus, where six video relays for Russian drones have been detected along the border.
Kyiv is now considering direct attacks on Belarusian territory to neutralize these installations, which are guiding attacks on the Ukrainian capital, Ivashchenko added.
