The US Central Command, responsible for the Middle East, has called on military analysts to propose new, unconventional ways to pressure Iran, American television network CNN reported, citing two anonymous sources.
They stated that a senior officer in the Command’s intelligence branch issued the call to a broad group of analysts last Wednesday.
CNN notes that this approach is unusual and reflects the limited and potentially unacceptable options available to US President Donald Trump in the conflict with Iran.
Central Command spokesperson Captain Timothy Hawkins said that the Command has a history of innovative work and added that its commander, Admiral Bradford Cooper, receives proposals from members of his team regardless of their rank, in order to ensure operational results are at the highest possible level.
