President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić stated that today’s local elections in Kosjerić and Zaječar were held “under unprecedented conditions – conditions of lynching, persecution, and harassment of citizens.” He claimed that the SNS list achieved a convincing victory in Zaječar and also won in Kosjerić.
Speaking from the headquarters of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), Vučić said that the “conditions in Kosjerić and Zaječar were unprecedented.” “Under conditions of lynching, persecution, harassment of citizens, threats, blackmail, violations of all legal norms and basic electoral rules,” he said.
He alleged that thugs were brought in “some on motorcycles, some in black SUVs,” who, according to him, “were threatening citizens.”
He added that in Zaječar they “ran a campaign under horrifying conditions” and claimed that the SNS list achieved what he called a huge and convincing victory, reportedly winning 48 percent of the vote.
He also said he hoped that the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) would pass the electoral threshold.
According to Vučić, the SNS list also won in Kosjerić.
As a reminder, opposition lists have declared victory in both municipalities.
He also commented on the incident involving Radomir Lazović, co-president of the Green-Left Front, who was hit by a van, stating that he had “never seen someone get hit by a side mirror and then fall down two minutes later.”
