University professor and Green-Left Front (ZLF) MP in the Serbian National Assembly, Djordje Pavicevic, told N1 that “if people expect perfect election conditions — they will never happen.”
“We in the ZLF believe that this regime will have to be defeated in unfair elections. How unfair they will be is another question, but any progress in that direction is important. Elections are the ultimate solution — whether they come before or after improvements to election conditions,” he said.
He added that students should politically assert themselves as actors, given the trust they enjoy, and that the question remains as to how they will do so.
“Public dissatisfaction and civic mobilization are growing — which students have managed to awaken — and the question now is how to turn that into a political victory,” he said.
The ZLF previously supported the demand of students involved in the blockade for the calling of early parliamentary elections and the formation of a student electoral list.
