The Ukrainian army confirmed today that during the previous night it targeted the Toljatikauchuk chemical plant in Russia’s Samara region and struck the Proton-Elektroteks (Electrotex) plant in Oryol.
An explosion and fire were reported near the Toljatikauchuk plant, and the main building of the Proton-Elektroteks plant was destroyed, the General Staff of the Ukrainian army announced on social media.
Russian authorities reported three fatalities and five serious injuries in Oryol.
Proton-Elektroteks produces electronic components for ballistic missiles and air defense systems, while Toljatikauchuk produces synthetic rubbers used in the production of solid fuels, the Ukrainian army added, noting that an aircraft was hit at the Yeysk airport in Russia’s Krasnodar region.
