Deputy Iranian Foreign Minister Kazem Garibabadi stated today that the Strait of Hormuz will remain Iranian, in response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s statement that he will soon declare the waterway American territory.
„The Strait of Hormuz was Iranian, is Iranian, and will remain Iranian,“ Garibabadi wrote on the X network, adding that the route will be „opened and closed only on Iranian command,“ according to French media reports.

Trump stated yesterday that when the United States „very soon“ defeats Iran, he will declare the Strait of Hormuz the territory of the United States of America.
